Location: Bethesda Home for the Blind, Mushin, Lagos
‘Spread the Light’ is an initiative by Synergistic Homies to reach out to the physically challenged in society. The synergistic homies paid a visit to The Bethesda Home of the Blind on July 2nd, 2022 to bring to life the theme of the outreach.
This outreach qualifies as the most emotional for members of the Team as we graced the joyful demeanor of the residents. They were a people willing to stand up to challenges and conquer every limitation. It was more like they had an inner eye. In fact, they did not act like they were physically challenged.
We had the ‘The Band Men’, a dynamic music group, lead the residents on an instrumentals praise and worship session. They had a peculiar style of clapping as they sang with so much joy which was amazing to see.
The residents were charged with an exhortation on the “Never Give Up” spirit. We presented some items for their welfare, prayed with them, and had a group photograph. They were more than grateful for this kind gesture and once again, “the signature clap”. It was so inspiring.
